Hello my lovely reader,

I know i know this is not a beauty post but hey you need to eat good to look good right ๐Ÿ˜‰ haha gotcha !! Kidding. Lately I have been looking into good recipes to boost up my cooking skills and tried this recipe. It is certainly a re-creation, I twerked it a bit and made slight changes as my family loves gravy and added spices in it aswell. This recipe is from the famous KCH group on Facebook. Im so glad im part of it though i dont participateย much but i do try recipes from there and enjoy them ๐Ÿ™‚ย 

The recipe is originallyย from Fariha bilal member of Karachi Chef at Home.

So here is how the recipe goes…

Recipe as i followed: (1kg ratio)

Ingredients: (for kababs)
Chicken mince: 1 kg
Onion: 2 finely chopped
Ginger Garlic paste: 1 tsp each
Dhaniya powder: 1 tsp
Zeera power: 1tsp
Chapli kabab masala: 4tbsp
Dhaniya+ Podina: andazan half bunch
Green chillies: 3
Crushed red chilis: 1tsp
Kasuri methi: 1/2 tsp
Egg: 1
Bread: 2 Slices

Ingredients: (for gravy)
Oil: 1/2 cup
Onion: 2 medium chopped
Tomatoes: 2 medium chopped
Dhaniya powder: 1/2 tbps
Zeera powder: 1/2 tbsp
Haldi: 1/2 tsp
Zeera sabut: 2 pinch
Water as required to bhoon-fie the masala and how much gravy/curry you want.

Method:
For Kabab –
1. Mix all the dry ingredients with the mince and also add one egg+ 2 bread slices with it. Prepare kababs, (I used seekh kabab shape) fry them and set aside.

For Gravy:
1. In 1/2 cup oil add in sabut zeera along with chopped onions when they turn light golden add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and all the other ingredients except dhaniya and green chilies.
2. Add in water to bhoon-fy the masala.
3. Once the masala is ready, add the fried kababs and with dhaniya and green chilies. Leave it to dum for 10mins.

End Result:

I really enjoyed trying this recipe as its not a typical dish and my family loved it. And you can also only make the kababs and fry them to enjoy a perfect snack in the evening. It tastes really good that way aswell ๐Ÿ™‚

This recipe went into my recipe book instantly ๐Ÿ˜€ specially i make the kababs and freeze them its a time saver ๐Ÿ˜‰

One Pot Microwave Brownie – Recipe

Hello my beauties,

Hope you are having a fantastic day just like this blog post im about to share with you today ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yes you are damn right brownies makes my mood 10 times happier ๐Ÿ˜€

I was looking up for some easy go to recipes to try out for a long time and when i got one I had to make few changes to it after 2-3 times of messing up I finally came up with my version of this microwave brownie which is super easy + hassle free + less time consuming all in one ๐Ÿ™‚

I named it one pot because literally you need to dumb all the ingredients in one bowl to mix everything together into a batter ๐Ÿ˜›

I have created a pictorial demonstration for you this time.So with out wasting our time lets hop right into creating this chocolaty good-ness :*

Utensils you will need:

  • Sifter
  • Measuring Spoons/Cups
  • Bowl for mixing
  • Spatula

Ingredients:

  • Flour ย  12 tbsp
  • Sugar 10 tbsp
  • Milk ย 4-6 tbsp
  • Baking Powder 3 tbsp
  • Coco Powder 6 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Egg 2
  • Oil + Coco Powder to grease and dust the pan

Topping:

  • Nutella 2-3 tbsp spoon full
  • Cream 1/4 cup (depends how runny or you like the topping)

Method:

  • Firstly you need to SIFT all the dry ingredients (Flour, Baking Powder, Coco Powder, Brown Sugar)ย in a bowl so that they are very nicely combined together.

 

  • When all the dry ingredients are mixed well add in the eggs one by one and mix well. The batter will become lumpy but dont worry about it.
  • The 1 tbsp at a time add in the milk till the batter becomes smooth, dont make it too runny.
  • After that add in ย 2 tbsp of oil.
  • And mix everything together
  • Grease your container with oil and dust with coco powder (remove excess powder).
  • Pour all the batter into a MICROWAVE FRIENDLY container and bake it for 3mins (check with a toothpick, if comes out clean its done. If not then bake for 1 or 1.5mins more because every microwave temp is different)1j
  • When the brownies are ready leave them to cool and start preparing ย the topping.
  • Microwave Nutella (10 sec at a time. For this amount 2 times is enough). Mix the cream with nutella ย into a topping consistency.
  • Pour the topping onto the brownies and your brownies are ready to serve !!
  • If its still hot serve it with ice-cream (Deadly combo ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Quick and Easy Banana Bread Recipe

So one night I had this urge to have some banana bread, I had never ever tried a banana bread or maybe once i guess that I dont even remember how it tastes. This time i really needed to boost up my taste buds to know how it tasted.

So the next evening I stormed up into the kitchen and tried out this super easy and deliciously moist banana bread recipe.

So lets just roll up those sleeves and get some backing done ๐Ÿ˜€
Ingredients:

  • 4 medium or 3 large overripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2/3 cup (white and brown sugar mix)
  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Method:

  1. Grease and apply flour on any loaf pan and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 160
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas into a smooth paste like form and add in yogurt. (Be sure to use bananas that are over ripe because the flavors will be more intense.)
  3. Add in sugar, followed by oil, and the egg, making sure to whisk before adding each ingredient.
  4. Drop ย in the flour mixed with the salt, baking soda and baking powder and mix only until the dry ingredients are moistened. (Try not to over-mix the batter because it will result in a dry bread)
  5. Place the batter into your pan and tap the pan on the counter to release any air bubbles.
  6. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  7. Sprinkle some icing sugar for decoration (I went a lil extra with it :P)

P.S: Make sure your bananas are ripped as they work as sweetening agent to the bread, else you have to incorporate some extra sugar in the recipe. The yogurt will help keep the bread moist and soft.ย The temperature of your oven can differ, so make sure you keep a check on the batter close to the ending time as you don’t want a hard and crunchy bread! Also if your bread still needs to cook and the upper layer is burning place a foil over it to prevent it from getting that burned look.

I have grown up listening to the saying โ€œinner beauty reflects outer beautyโ€. It is a fact that no matter what you do, if you donโ€™t believe in yourself, your face can never repel your true beauty. For the said reason, I chose my blog to be an inspiration not only for cosmetics but the beauty within one, the natural one. It can be very difficult for me at times to choose if I am to work on a blog post concerning make-up or how to adore your original self. So instead, I try to blend them together. After all, you canโ€™t walk wearing one shoe only, can you? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Reading different articles, listening and interviewing make-up artists or attending meet and greet occasions and then summarizing everything together to make it productive for the reader. That is how the ship sails.

My laptop is always kept next to my bed because as soon as I wake up, I tend to follow up with the work left over. Because of which, I usually take my breakfast in bed. After I am done plotting down all the joints, the next step is to join them together in a parallel line. I take my work as my art of living which makes it easier for me to figure out what my next goal would be. Trying different make-up lines, swatching different lipsticks, I need to freshen up a gazillion times during the day and the time flies before I even notice that moon has taken over the day light. Performing my duties as a blogger i need to change my working category from being a blogger to a art-craft girl being an owner to a small online art and craft business by the name of Mignon- A sprinkle of love and care, I need to prepare overflowing orders which are all customized and according to customer needs. My day usually starts off as a blogger and ends on art and craft ๐Ÿ™‚

In between when my tummy starts to growl and rumble with hungry, thatโ€™s when I pick my phone up and jump onto the โ€œFood Pandaโ€ IOS Application. Ranging from Fast Food to Thai, I can find everything under my thumb. All I need to do is choose from my favorite restaurant and post my order. Honestly speaking, I donโ€™t really like making phone calls for food delivery. It wastes a lot of time and usually the instructions are well neglected by the call representatives. On the other hand, food panda lets me enjoy my love for food without making things complicated. You can keep your eyes on your watch and before the last minute of the given time is over, you will hear your door bell ring. You can smell the fresh food from under your door.

Using food panda application allows me to get my concentration back at my work within a minimum of 5 or maximum to 10 minutes, if I get confused in what I have to order. Once you have put your hands on the application, you wonโ€™t feel the need of looking anywhere else. I enjoy my food while watching different reviews or reading articles which allows me to be productive even in the laziest of moments. I stay close to my work and the people following me because both of us can connect to each other that way. And thatโ€™s how the Perfect Day Cookie Crumbles ๐Ÿ˜‰

Shan Foods TVC has come up with a brilliant concept in one of their recent commercial which has hit the social media as a storm. It is one of the fastest spreading commercials which went viral in just 3 days since its upload. Teary eyes of millions, who have been sharing the video and tagging their loved ones, go through the same emotions just as displayed in the commercial.

Shan Foods Masalas, for ages, has been the top priority for every household. If i re-call my childhood, Shan Masalas were a common finding in every delicious meal i ate. In fact i have seen my relatives barging around to carry it abroad with them as they couldn’t survive without it and their food felt incomplete ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank God that Shan Foods items are now sold internationally as well.Anyhow, to date, I too personally prefer these items as an ingredient in my meal and then i flaunt it as if it were my fingers that carried the magic. Oh how proud it feels ๐Ÿ˜€ However, sadly everyone knows already knows the true story.

Being a marketing grad good commercials always catch my attention and indeed this one is just great *tumbs-up* Coming back to the commercial, Hats of to Oilvy & Mather Pakistan team who came up with such a unique and absolutely brilliant concept. It displays a true picture of the importance of family in ones life and that its not easy being alone abroad while everyone in their country is enjoying and celebrating. You have done justice to our compassion as you made these 3 minutes repel our emotions and respected how it truly feels to be away from family on such wonderful occasions. You make us cry yet applaud for you at the end of the tale. Even the lyrics and melody of the whole situation creates that feeling of emotional bonding.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Food panda is one of the absolute portals that have been created to facilitate people by bring food simply to the tip of their fingers. Yes, this is true. A tiny inch of movement or massive phone calls will not be necessary when attempting to end your craving by ordering your most favorite food. You find food panda at your service. Now, if i think back to where it started, it were me and my brother too tired to run through the fridge or cook something fresh to eat. This is where the portal first came into my mind and i thought it might be the best time to try their services. The next i did was to jump onto their site i.e. www.foodpanda.pk where i was welcomed by an orange main frame asking me for my city and location to get me started with. It all looked so easy and extremely well synced. 7

At Food Panda they tell you to get your favorite food in 4 simple steps:

  1. Search
  2. Choose

  3. Pay

  4. Enjoy

After i was done putting the info of my location, the next page leaded me to the list of available restaurants in my location to help me choose from. I could access their menu and choose whatever i wanted to. From starters to main course and from price to the time of delivery, and review of the restaurants performance, every single piece of information was there on my screen and i didn’t feel the need to look some where else.

Since my brother brought up the idea for BBQ and craved me for the same so i decided to check by one of the options “Red Apple”. At first, i was in a state of shock because this restaurant has been near my place for years now and i didnot know that they deliver food. Hadn’t i used food panda i would have been stuck in the 19 century :/ Anyways so i chose to order roll for myself and later the same for my brother too (i must say he copies me). The next page asked me to confirm my order and give in the details and choose the payment options. I got a confirmation call and also an email confirming the order so that it could be placed to the vendor.

On one hand I was so excited as it took me less than 5 minutes to finalize my order and on the other i had a bell ring in my head worrying me if the food will be delivered on time or will be served fresh or not. I kept checking my watch to see if the time given to me has been exceeded or not but Food Panda gave me no chance to regret. The door bell rang exactly in the committed time (which was 40mins) and i was delivered with fresh food ready to put a full stop to my craving “yummm” ๐Ÿ˜›

The complete computerized system introduced by food panda has really made it easier for us to look around what is available in our neighborhood without having to step out of our door. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should do once. It spoils you by making you dependent on it ๐Ÿ˜‰ . You can find Food Panda on your App Stores too.

Hello my beauties !! how are you all ?

Lets energize ourselves with a great new launch, ‘ The occasional guest blog writing’. This is our first ever guest blog post, which i personally found very informative and i am sure everyone else would too:). So, cutting the suspense, I would like humbly welcome and thank our first guest writer Shigufta Khan from The Reluctant Cook and her delicious recipe to our blog. As you all know must be knowing by now that i am a big foodie myself because of which i have a Cook’IN Lab category on my blog where you can find almost every recipe that has been tried and tested by me and my mom. Now here, what I truly love about The Reluctant Cook is that all her recipes are really easily explained and most of the times she makes you realize that a particulate recipe, which you thought to be ridiculously difficult just by the name of it, turns out to be the easiest to make. ๐Ÿ™‚

Chicken & Spinach Curry (Palak Chicken)

This is aย recipe I have borrowed from aย friendย who is a very good cook, Palak chicken is a very popular recipe served in nearly every Asianย restaurantย and takeaway. There are many versions of the recipe however I have found this one the quickest to make and its absolutelyย delicious.

Ingredients: 1/2 Kilo boneless Chicken pieces (breast or thigh)ย  Spinach 1/2 Kilo (fresh or tinned) Freshย coriander ( 1/2 bunch) 3 green chillies ( more if you want extra hot) Ginger & Garlic paste 1 tsp each Red chilli 1/2 tsp Salt (to taste) Turmericย powder ย 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds 1tsp Oil Method:

  • Blend the spinach, coriander, green chillies and all the spices excluding the cumin seeds in a food processor.
  • In hot oil add the cumin seeds when they start to sizzle add the washed chicken pieces. Fry for 10 mins then add the spinach and spices that have been blended. cover and cook on a low heat. The dish is cooked when the oilย separatesย from the spinach.ย 
  • Spinach tends to soak oil up so a little extra oil may need to be added whilst cooking to enhance the color of the dish. If you don’t wish to add extra oil that’s fine it will still taste delicious.ย 
  • Palak Chicken can be eaten with naan bread or chappatti.
