Review on the ELF Baked Highlighter – Moonlight pearls
If you have been hanging around with me for a while then you’re aware about how much i am in love with ELF and how smartly they are coming up with products so love-able. Being a drugstore brand, it has proved in many ways. The product and quality is really good and the dupes they come out with are really comparable
My last ELF review was about ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder Blush which i absolutely loved but this time it is the Baked Highlighters that ELF studio line has introduced which have become quite popular and absolute favorite amongst the Youtube bloggers I follow, such as KathleenLights.
I saw the baked highlighters in one of her ELF haul videos and wanted to try it for myself. Having an Asian skin-tone, I felt that moonlight pearls would be a good go because it is a beautiful warm champagne color flattering on all skin-tones.
Description as per box:
“Create a radiant glow with this illuminating powder that highlights the skin with a sheer wash of shimmering color. Infused with Vitamin E, Jojoba, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. The long-lasting baked shimmering color can be applied wet for a vibrant effect or dry for sheer pigmentation.”
Directions: Using a powder Brush, sweep the powder onto the cheekbones, browbones, and decollete for instant glow.
These baked highlighters comes in circle domed shaped container, containing 0.27 ounces ( 5 Grams ) of product in it, having a black plastic bottom with a transparent lid on top which flips. The packaging is not reliable. It looks sturdy and really delicate when you hold it.
As I only have Moonlight pearls, which is a champagne color, I felt the texture it has is really smooth and blends nicely in the skin when applied. I did not find it chalky at all. You will not be able to find chunks of glitter in it but fine shimmers that give you that perfect spark of glow when it contacts with the light. The brush you use will be able to hold the product well in the 1st go and one sweep decently covers the highlighting points of the face.

I am highly impressed with this product. It has hit me as a surprise in small package The texture is really smooth with no chunks of glitter what so ever only fine specs of shimmer that highlights your face perfectly and blends on the skin evenly leaving glowy skin for almost 5-6 hours before you need to re-apply.
I could see the light hitting my highlighted areas, making them glow and that really brightened my face up. The formula is buttery and it can be applied by both dry and wet brush or simply by fingers. The product holds on to the brush and finger very well as you can see in the swatches. One run over the highlighter gives you alot of product to work with
My overall experience is great with these baked highlighters and I am up for grabbing blush gems too. However, the packaging can be made alot better and less fragile. It is always in the back of my mind that I might break it while trying to carrying it in my purse or makeup. Other than that, thumbs up E.L.F !!
Cute small packaging
Universal shades (suits all skin-tone)
Price: It retails for around $3 on the E.L.F Website but I bought it from an online page, which i can’t recall. But there are tons of Facebook pages dealing in international makeup brands these days. However because of third party charges it had cost me PKR 650/-.
