ELF – CONTOURING BLUSH & BRONZING POWDER (ST LUCIA) – REVIEW
If you are a makeup junkie then you must have heard about the ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzer Powder in the shade St Lucia which is supposedly a dupe for Nars Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer. I bought this product because I wanted something for my everyday need, which looked natural and not very over the board plus it very cost friendly and i always love these options in the makeup world where a high end product has a similar alternative to got for if you are on the budget friendly side 🙂
So lets get on board to find out how this worked for me.
About ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzeing Powder
“Create a healthy and natural glow all year long with the Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder. The Blush highlights the cheeks to add a flush of color, while the Bronzer accents and contours cheekbones for beautiful definition. This convenient compact has just what you need to achieve a gorgeous glow anytime, anywhere.”
From the eyeslipsface.com website:
The blush/bronzer comes in a sleek matte black compact kit with net weight of 0.30 oz (8.4g) of product inside. The name of the company and product is printed with white on the lid. It has a big mirror on the other side of the lid and two equal sections of Blush and Bronzer on the other. The kit feels quite sturdy in the hands and doesn’t feel plastic but rather has a pretty smooth finish unlike the Nars packaging which is said to be of a rubberized texture.
The Elf blush in the duo set is a peachy pink shade having hint of gold shimmer in it. Even though it looks shimmery in the pan , the shimmer particles are barely visible on the cheeks ones applied and gives a glowy finish to the skin. The pigmentation is decent, you need to build it up to get a better result.
The Bronzer is a deep brown shade having a matte finish to it. You will see tiny specs of glitter particles but they don’t show up on the skin at all and its the perfect shade for creating those natural creases on the face. It is extremely pigmented and blends out smoothly.
The best thing about both the Blush and Bronzer is that they don’t Flake in the pan.
Personally i wasn’t expecting much before because it was my 1st time trying out a bronzer as i wanted a matte finished bronzer for the purpose of having a very natural and everyday look. Seriously i was surprised by the results it gave 😀 ELF has become one of my favorite drug store brands just because of the compact duo set. I’m not the fan of the blush in particular because its very light and you have to build it up if you want to show some color but other then that for a everyday subtle look its perfect.
Good thing about the bronzer is that its super pigmented and a little swipe of the brush on the hollows of the cheeks give you a whole lot of product to work with. Both the Blush and Bronzer blends easily and doesn’t look flaky on the skin. Neither both have that much shimmer which looks as if you are dipped in glitter, just the right amount of hint to give you that soft glowey finish on the skin.
Overall i love the duo, its perfect for beginners who just started to learn the technique of contouring, give you great pigmentation to work with. Out of 5 i will rate this product 3.5 because i know EFL can make the Blush in the Duo way better 🙂
